Fruit of Your Labor

I don’t have green thumbs…but my parents do. Although we live in a suburban city, when you’re in their backyard, it feels like you’re in a rural town.

The ground is nothing but dirt and controlled weeds. There’s a small trellis for grapevines to crawl, when it’s in season. About six fruit trees grow – half already bear fruit. A few scattered pots grow some hardy flowers, because honestly, they’re not flower people, so those tend to be wild. Finally, being the practical people that they are, they’ve got tomatoes, garlic, moringa, and sweet potato tops too.

Today, I found the perfect persimmon fruit. It’s fruits like this one that makes the hard work of gardening all worth while. Of course, not my labor…but I’ll be sure to tell my parents that. 😉

Now, let’s start the linky party!

    1. Oh they are yummy! There’s two ways to eat them: one when they’re super ripe and soft, and the other just ripe, but hard. My husband likes the super ripe kind. I prefer the slightly crunchy. If you get a chance to try it someday, you should!

Thanks for joining me today! Have a great week!
